Bento # 30

SIL bought this bag from a RM5 store. I did not catch the name of the store. She wanted me to try it out and see if it keeps the food warm till noon.

A lot of water condensation. Not good right? Anyway, the food wasn't warm. It was just room temperature, not cold. If you know what I mean.... ^_*

What I had was 2 chicken drumstick( last of the frozen batch that mum made for me), brown rice sprinkled with sakura denbu, edamame, korean pickles and japanese radish pickle. The pickles were cold, so I pack them separately. Plate into the box above before taking a pic. Not in the picture were 2 small red and green apple.

What do you do when you have these?

Play time?

So, while making an egg sandwich...

Try this out for size

Can add 2 more small ones...

And this is what you get
But what to do with this?
Eat it first, of course
And then play some more...

Voila!

Lody's Contest 1: Give Thanks

Ok so I shamelessly copied from Paul’s blog to give him some contest…. (Ops, can he sue me for copyright?)

OK so I got this from Lody's blog.
She turned it into a mini contest and I wanna win so I'm putting this up on my blog as per the regulations.

WHO ARE YOU AND HOW DID YOU FIND ME?
1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! And if we’ve never met in real life, leave me a comment of your favorite post I wrote and why it was your favorite.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually really funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you.

3. Do you read my posts from a reader, blogroll or is this your first visit?

Just post on her comments area about a memory of you and her and paste the above on your blog (more details at her blog).
She's going to announce the winner for the contest in Thanksgiving 27th November 2008. I hope I win!
^-^

Friday's bento # 29

Another bento of leftovers from dinner - vegetables and fish. I started eating then remembered have not taken a pic.. ^_*
I am still trying to get use to the idea of straight out of the fridge to work bento. I pack the upper box with the leftovers the night before and place in the fridge. I only heat up the rice in the morning. I suppose by noon the food is already room temperature whether from the fridge or heated up in the morning? Taste wise, I think it was the same... probably because I am not particular that my food must be heat hot.

Another Fiona made Bento

This was Tuesday bento. Crappy pictures took with handphone...

Yummy Yam cake for breakfast curtesy from Fiona's mum.

Bottom tier - Petai fried with tempeh and dried shrimps, stir fried veg.
Did not take photo of the upper tier of white rice.

Flurry?

These I bought and I don't know why....

Because they were on sale at Spotlight, Singapore? Don't even know if I know how to crochet or knit with them. But they were really cheap..... 50 cents per ball!!! We went to Golden Dragon at Chinatown after that and saw something like that selling at S$5.50!!? Darn... I should have bought the other colours, too. Or maybe not???

Up and Down...

The stock market has been crazy for the past weeks! Up and down like nobody's business... aiyoh, headache! and then I haven’t been exercising… eat a lot and no bento.

Reminds me of this song sang by Pooh....

When I up, down and touch the ground
It puts me in the mood,
Up, down and touch the ground
In the mood for food

I am stout, round and I have found
Speaking poundage wise
I improve my appetite
When I exercise

I am short, fat and proud of that
And so, with all my might
I up, down and up, down to
My appetite's delight

While I up, down and touch the ground
I think of things to chew, like honey
With a hefty happy appetite
I'm a hefty happy Pooh

With a hefty happy appetite
He's a hefty happy Pooh

Unique Flowers Stamps First Day Issue

Did I ever mention that I am also a 'de facto' stamp collector? Which is part of the reason why I am fascinated with Mail Arts. (Ok, ok... you are sick of hearing it already!)

There are total four design in this issue, two each for the 30 sen and 50 sen stamp. I also bought a presentation pack, a miniature sheet and a couple of First Day Cover. See anything interesting in the above picture?

Well, look again lah....

Nothing special?

Really nothing at all?

Chicken Wine Bento

Burp! I think I am a little drunk... ^_*

Its a combo bento today... Fiona cooked the Chicken wine which is in the gourmet container. I brought the rice and vegs.

I steamed the white rice, carrot and edamame this morning. The brown rice is for me. Fiona prefer white rice... and the main dish - Chicken Wine. Smacking my lips, the chicken wine is just superb... The secret ingredient is the home made wine. Burp! Ops, excuse me..

Lui cha Bento without the cha...

I am assuming the 'cha' in Lui cha means the tea soup? Fiona pack the two bento's above and went to 'ta pau' the 'cha' but the store owner, based on his principle, refuse to sell only the soup. Tell you a secret, Fiona saw his wife selling the soup only before....

Anyway, here's Fiona's Lui cha. Don't know what time she got up to prepare the above, she always arrives in the office first. Looks yummy, right? And don't you envy that so many people cook for me. ^_*

I pour mine into my metal bowl and mixed it all up. It was a good lunch and then I went to catch the 1.05pm Mama Mia movie with my currently ex-driver (who knows when I would need her services again). No wonder so many people were gushing about this movie... it was really entertaining.

6th October - Bento # 28

Did not get a chance to post yesterday's bento yesterday. (Maybe because don't have Emily to "Wei, no bento today?") Glad to report that I went to gym yesterday... did an hour on the cross-trainer machine and half hour of spinning. I was feeling a little giddy after the half hour and thought better don't push myself too hard... LOL!!!

Must learn how to make acar from my SIL. I know there is cucumber, cauliflower, carrot and peanut. Mixed them all together with something else... will let you know when I find out, if I remember. Over the weekend, my mum 'lo' (simmered in dark soy sauce?) a batch of chicken drumlets and wings for me. Yes, my mum loves me alot!

Top - acar, edamame and picked radish
Bottom - 'lo' chicken drumlets and brown rice

There were supposed to be 3 same ingredients in this bento with Emily's Bento. I forgot which 3, wanna help me out? LOL!!!

Next is Fiona's bento....

Fiona caught the bug and cannot wait. Called her friend in Singapore to go Daiso to get her some things. The above was a new belt on the red bento box from 100Yen outlet...

White rice (I sprinkle some furikake on top for effect ^_*).
Bottom box was Sweet& Sour Chicken and fried tofu.

By the way, am not sure if Paul was influnced by me. He asked for my *ahem* 'professional' opinion on his debut bento. HAHAHAHA!!!

3rd October - Bento # 27

3lilangels smsed me asking if I would go to KL for the Raya break. Instead, I enticed her with a trip toDaiso... So, leaving the husbands behind to fend for themselves, both my sis came home last Wed with the kids.

Last Friday bento was done by 3lilangels. So nice of her to wake up early to send me off to work with a bento, huh? Ah... peace again at home again after everyone gone back to KL... LOL!!

Using my new brown sandwich box, top - Ketupat and two pieces of Lemang. Below - serunding, acar and satay without the stick. Notice my new silicon cups? ^_*
